Weddings at Fawley Hill

Your wedding, your way

Fawley Hill is a fabulously unique blank canvas wedding venue in the heart of the English countryside, near Henley-on-Thames.

Once described by Country Life as ‘the most bonkers estate in Britain’, it is home to a restored Victorian train station, the steepest standard gauge railway track in the world, a railway museum and over 20 species of animal. Getting married here is a truly magical experience.

There are no restrictions on suppliers and no corkage charges, allowing you to put your own personal touch to the day.

The romance of the railway

Somersham Station itself is licensed for ceremonies of up to 86 people. The vintage waiting room is a romantic, unique setting for the ceremony, full of original features such as the ticket booking hatch.

In and around the station also makes the perfect place for reception drinks, surrounded by traditional tin advertising, a Victorian carousel, and the red phone box that was used on the One Direction album cover!

The Great Eastern No. 1 carriage will be parked in the station for guests to explore and for you to sign the register on if you wish. It also makes a great backdrop for pictures and has a pretty balcony from which you can wave to your guests.

The station museum can be used as a venue for a sit-down meal followed by dancing, again surrounded by interesting rail paraphernalia, traditional tin advertising and an O gauge model railway.

Perfect for festival and vintage weddings

Alternatively, a marquee can be erected on the top field next to Ironhenge – a structure made from the pillars used in the undercroft of St. Pancras station. This is well-suited for more of a festival-style wedding.

Another option is to have a magical woodland wedding, complete with stunning views and gypsy caravans for those perfect wedding pictures.

The possibilities and permutations are almost endless. For more information and our availability, please e-mail: or call 07895 120640
